Our Little Gardener

I will plant a garden green,
Then I'll watch it grow.
I'll drop a seed in a nice straight row,
The each seed I'll sow.
With a drop-drop here,
And a drop drop there,
Here a drop, there a drop,
everywhere a drop-drop,
I will plant a garden green,
Then I'll watch it grow~!

My Personal Charger

Here I am singing my little heart out to anyone who is reading ....
It's incredible how much this little boy depends on me and loves me;
But on the other hand, I depend on him equally much as well;
I need to hear hundred times of 'mimi' from him everyday;
I need his warm (or rather wet) kisses to brighten up my gloomy days;
I need his sweet hugs to warm up my lonely soul;
He is such a lovely and considerate little darling even at this young age;
He is always fully charged with love ... to share with me and everyone else;
He is now nearly 19 months, is incredibly sweet, affectionate, eager to please and enchanting;
He is in every way more than I could have ever dared to hope for in a little boy;
Mommy feels so blessed to have you as my baby boy since the day you were born ...
All I wanted you to know is that mommy loves you dearly and I will always do!
A Fully-Charged Mom

Sleeps in His Own Room

Our big boy has finally settled in his room last night! After 17 months of sleeping in the same bedroom with us, we were actually used to his company and his unique wake up call every morning ~ "daddy ... mimee ... x 100", and I even start to miss him terribly! Of course, we cannot let him to sleep alone in his room since Eugene is needed to be feed milk during the night. So 嫲嫲 stills the one who sing song and pat Eugene to sleep every night. At first, we thought he would have problem sleeping in this room. However, he proved us wrong! Eugene is now having his sweet dream together with his 嫲嫲 every night.

I tried to put him in his room again for his afternoon nap ... and he ACCEPTS it without any fuss and is still sleeping soundly right now :) Way to go my little darling!!! I am so proud of you!I wish you could hear me as I literally sing those words at the top of my voice :D

Eugene - Our Stubborn "Teacher"

Initially, I was the one who points at the alphabet or words, then asked Eugene to repeat after me ....

HOWEVER, it is very soon that he takes over the role of 'coaching' and refused to utter a word but asking me to read for him instead! There is nothing wrong with that right? But, the problem starts when he is 'continuously' playing this 'forcing me to read' game NON-STOP!!!

He LOVES me to read for him whenever I am eating or busy with the chores around the house. He would make a BIG BIG fuss if I pretend to ignore him and continue my tasks. (BIG fuss = GROANS and follows me everywhere I go with his finger pointing at the particular words or alphabet!) And, he NEVER give up!!!Maybe I shouldn't be complaining here but should be feeling blessed with a child who enjoys learning that much yaaa?

1st day at Kindermusik Class

After attended 2 trial classes, teacher has given us guideline about parental appearance. She suggests that only either mummy or daddy to accompany your children in the class. Teacher evens not encourage parent or any guest stay outside the classroom because some children tend to get distracted when parents are around.

Today is Eugene 1st day enrolled in music school. I decided to accompany him to school alone and I am more exciting than my little boy! Everyone was worried that I am not manage to take care Eugene by myself. While I am driving Eugene to school, Hubby called....My mum called....Mum in law called.....They are worried that Eugene cant adapt to the new environment, worried Eugene will cry and fussy without them around. Anyway, I have confidence to him and my little boy can make it!!!

Eugene is getting ready to go to 'school'. He kissed goodbye everyone at home and happily go out with his small bag.

Eugene was behaved quite well in the class. He did not cry and fuss but he was looking for his daddy at the middle session of the class. I told him Daddy is working then he is ok and continue with the activities. :p Teacher praised Eugene is a GOOD boy and he can performed well although he is the youngest one among of his classmate. Yeah....Mummy is very proud of you. It will be another challenge for me whether my boy willing to go to school next Saturday!
That's my Eugene, so tired after the first day of school :) Fall in sleep while I drive him back home.

1st Dental Checkup

I brought Eugene to his 1st dental checkup today. We reached clinic about 830am. I though we are the earliest one but there already about 10 persons are waited inside the clinic! Then we proceed to register at the counter and take the queuing number. Luckily they have special queue for the toddler. We are the second in the queue!
We had to wait a while when we got to the clinic. So I took the opportunity to talk to Eugene about opening his mouth wide wide for Dr to check his teeth.
There is a study corner with lots of magazine all about dentist in action, so I showed Eugene that this is what the dentist will do for him later.

When we got in, Eugene was very calm. He greeted the Dr “hello” and then we proceed to sit on the dentist’s chair. The chair is pretty big for Eugene, so the dentist asked me to let Eugene sit on my lap instead. So I sat on the chair, and let Eugene lay on top of me.

The dentist told me that she will just count his teeth. When dentist put on her face mask and ask Eugene open his mouth, he was cried out loudly and refused to open his mouth. Probably Eugene felt strange that Dr wearing face mask. Alamak.....I forgot to tell Eugene that dentist will need to wear the face mask for hygiene purpose. The whole procedure takes less than 1 minute. And the dentist told me that his teeth are in perfect condition. And very good dental hygiene. *Yay*

am so glad that Eugene's first dental experience had been pleasant. And the checkup is free too! I didn’t even have to pay any admin/ registration fees.

Scott's Emulsion Cod Liver Oil

When I was a kid, when my mother said it was time for Scott’s Emulsion, I had to run for cover. Back then it was a bottle of thick white stuff, no nice orange flavour, it had a strong, almost nauseating fishy flavour. I always had to close our nose drinking it, and the thick fishy taste stayed with you for hours after that. Since cod liver oil has been used for years so i gave the same brand of the cod liver oil to Eugene now. hehehe.... Eugene is taking about a teaspoon of cod liver oil twice a day.

Cod liver oil known to contain vitamins A, D, E, and K. It is known to contain high levels of vitamin D, which helps support the immune system is usually used for children. A daily dose of cod liver oil in children can help ward off rickets, which is a bone softening in children. It can also help prevent ear infections.

18 Months Old

Eugene is turned to 18 months today. My boy weights 11.5kg and measures 81cm. He eats almost everything that we adults eat! Loves fruits especially apple and oranges. He is able to munch up a whole apple! His appetite depends very much on his mood; which means he can eat a lot the first two days and get only very little the next two days. We are not worry at all because the kids will eat willingly whenever they are really hungry :)

When I looked at the photos that I have taken of him recently, he seemed so grown up to me. He is growing up so handsome too. His double eyelids are developing and are making his eyes look so much bigger, and more beautiful.

He loves to go for a walk, preferably to go shopping; If we go to the opposite direction, he would try his very best to drag us away! He loves doggies (likes his daddy)!

His 'terrible two' symptoms are oozing out little by little ... First, he learns how to shout, then starts to throw tantrum by sitting on the floor crying and hiding his face whenever we scold him ... Despite all these, he is still as cheeky as he is, but most importantly he still knows VERY well the tricks to capture our hearts :) We love him to bits! Tell me, how to get angry with this little lad?

Hmmm ... I have too much to write about my boy!!! While it's difficult to accept how much has changed in the last year and a half for three of us in the family, it's also impossible to imagine what life would be like without my little darling! Happy 18 months old, Eugene :)

Eugene's room renovation-Parquet Flooring

We thinking of let Eugene to sleep in his own room when he turned to two. Our plan is renovation his room part by part. - flooring, painting and then interior design.
Nowadays, timber flooring has been a popular choice to enrich appearance of your room. It was really an eye-opening experience for me when the supplier shows us the sample of timber flooring materials. All boards shaped with a tongue on one edge and a groove on the other so that they can be fitted together without gaps! Some more they have lots of architectural moldings included skirting, nosing, architraves and molded timbers range in varieties species! The price for the raw materials is about rm5++ per meter square which are considered moderately price. After all the negotiation, raw materials plus labor costs are total RM1300.

They were just taken half day to complete the task. It adds softness and warmth in your room, and turns it to a contemporary sanctuary that you would have a good sleep! Life is wonderful when you feel nature under your feet.

Kindermusik Trial Class

I brought Eugene to a free trial Kindermusik class last saturday, a music shcool where located at Jalan Gopeng, Ipoh. Joern also joined the trial class! Kindermusik is a music and movement class for babies from newborn to 7 years old. I decided to bring Eugene to the class as he is interested in songs and movements since he’s trying his best to copy the moves from his movie’s clips, and dances when he hears some songs from Nursery Rhymes.

Every toddler has a chance to try the class first before enrolling, so may as well give it a try. Every kid will be accompanied by their parent, so it’s less scary for toddlers below 3 years old. Eugene and Joern were joined under 'Our time' curriculum which is for toddler age between 18 months to 3 years old. This curriculum contained of 4 unit Themes - "Woggles & Giggles, Away We Go!, Milk & Cookies and Fiddle-dee-dee." Eugene was really good and didn’t cry in the class. Nonetheless, he refused to participate as first and sat on my laps while he watched the other kids interacted with the teacher. I know he’s scared of the new environment and I didn’t pressure him to do anything, so we just sat there and observed.

Eugene and Joern were enjoying the class activities.

It was only after the teacher gave a set of 'egg maracas' to all the children, then Eugene started to enjoy the class. He’s holding tight to the 'egg maracas' and shaking them to make some sound, but he refused to follow the instruction. At least there’s a smile on his face, and that showed that he’s not as scare as he was. When the teacher asked them to put back the 'egg maracas', Eugene walked towards her and placed back the set, he’s not sticking to me anymore.

Yeah...its toast making time! Everyone started to sing: "Toast.., Toast.. I like it a lot... Toast... Toast.. when will it pop?...Toast..Toast.. time to pop!" They're already started to have fun when the toast maker toy passing to the kid one by one and let them to experience to make a toast. It’s good to see the way he’s interacting with kids in his same age group. At least his didn’t act rough to his “classmates”!

The class lasted only 45 minutes, it’s quite short but fun of activities. When I was enquiring about the fees and time table, Eugene’s having fun playing in the classroom with his friends. I asked if he liked the class and would like to come again, he said yes. Don’t know if he really mean it, but hubby and I “listened” to him and decided to enrol him. See if he really knows what he said!

許願孔明燈

We wrote our wishes on the Hung Ming Lantern; Lighting up the fuel at the bottom of Hung Ming Lantern
Hung Ming Lantern rises into the sky to spread our wishes and blessings.
Hung Ming lantern (孔明燈) was originally called Celestial Lights (天燈) . It was created by Zhu Ge Liang (諸葛亮) (also known as Hung Ming(孔明)) to transmit secret military information during the Three Kingdoms period (around 220-265 A.D.). It utilized steam to raise lanterns into the sky that it created false celestial information to deceive the opponents led by Si Ma Yi. The story was gradually picked up by the common people, who used the lanterns to bring their prayers to the heavens. Releasing the lanterns during festivals has become a Chinese tradition practice in various religious festivals and celebrations meaning illuminated by heaven’s blessing.
