Happy Birthday to 婆婆

For mom's birthday this year, we went to Korean food (Korean BBQ Restaurant @ Ipoh Garden) for a celebratory dinner.

As usual, the impressive array of Korean side dishes were served first. A few variations of kimchi, chili cockles, salad, blanched vegetables, you name it, they’ve got it. For the main dishes, we ordered ==> Korean pancake. This is actually my least favourite of the dishes. I found it a little bland and it’s not as crispy as I like it to be. It’s almost like eating a thinner fritata. My mom loves this though so I’d say it’s subjective, just like how people like their eggs cooked in different ways. ==>Delicious kimchi soup. It’s very flavourful and packed with goodies like mushrooms, clams, tofu, radish, chillies and many more. ==> BBQ pork. Half lean-half fat cuts of pork, marinated in slightly spicy sauce (typical red pepper sauce ~ Korean speciality), and barbecued. Wrapped them in Romaine lettuce, and gobble them whole. Good stuff. If only the portion is larger. Hmmm ….

Eugene: Happy Birhtday to my PoPo. May you always be healthy and happy.

Mommy, nothing I say will ever be enough for you. You are one person in this world whom I can completely trust and I know you will never let me down. On your birthday, I wish you a peaceful and lovely life ahead. I wish you a wonderful year and a very happy birthday. Love you Mom.
